The Land Lady

Barbara Fortson Loyd is the Land Lady. She's earned the respect of the Land Brokers who once teased her for "selling dirt in a skirt". But I've yet to meet anyone with a greater knowledge of the land surrounding Athens. Barbara has a savant ability for looking at a property and instantly recognizing the potential.
In one glance she can tell if a property is best suited for hay, horses or the super fund. If she has a plat, she can tell you at once if the neighbors barn is encroaching on the sellers land. Barbara has an archaeologist talent for looking at the land and seeing what has been. She knows if the land has been neglegted, fallow or ruined by king cotton.
Barbara Loyd knows where the good water flows-
and she knows where the well will run dry.
She knows land good to grow oats-
and land not fit for goats.
So give the Land Lady a try.
Lincoln a/k/a Realtor Daddy

I'm typing this with one hand and playing tug-of-war with my eleven month old daughter. Claire is the light of my life and center of my very limited attention span. She was born just in time for the Mortgage Crisis and as a result we have spent exactly zero on daycare. Now Claire is pulling all the paper out of my printer a sheet at a time. I've been in the biz 5 years now and this has been the most challenging but the most emotionally rewarding year (we'll see about financially).
So now Claire is laying across my lap napping and I'm able to use both hands. My wife works the second shift at Athens Regional Medical Center. So I pick Claire up in town and take her back to the office.
I don't advocate "take your daughter to work day" as a way of life for everyone, but in this down market, the flexibility of being a Realtor has saved me a fortune on day care. Though I wish Claire had more time with other toddlers, she does have a huge vocabulary for her age and she hasn't gotten tired of dismantling our office yet. So I don't think being around a bunch of agents has done irreparable harm...yet.
